Online to offline – the main topic at MAPIC‘s 22nd edition

MAPIC 2016, the international Market for Retail Real Estate held in Cannes, will be focused on online-to-offline at its following edition which takes place in November.

Omni-channel sale strategy is becoming increasingly popular in the retail property market and, as explained by MAPIC Director Nathalie Depetro, the physical point of sale is considered a „vital component“. Due to this, online retail players are showing a growing interest in having a physical store.

Experts attending an exclusive client and media event at Google France's Paris headquarters also discussed the value of offering social events and entertainment at the stores, known as 'retailtainment'. Specialists on the matter will be present at the 'Trends Hub' pavilion set up at MAPIC 2016. Digital experts will also be available to recommend strategies to promote points of sales and drive up traffic.

MAPIC is a golden opportunity for those looking into opening a physical store, covering challenges such as finding the ideal location and choosing the correct format. The event also plays a huge role in promotion. A pavilion for pop-up stands will be set up where companies will have the chance to present themselves and increase their opportunity of having a physical presence in shopping centres.
